Organized by the Chiayi City Cultural Affairs Bureau and executed by the Huochuan Humanities Center, with co-organization by the National Formosa University General Education Center and other units, the 2025 7th Seagull Poetry Recitation Award (Taiwanese traditional Chinese poetry and modern poetry recitation) and the 114 Chiayi City Local Studies and Local Knowledge Promotion Guidance Program, were held on October 26, 2025, at Zhongzheng Park in Chiayi City. The events included the Seagull Poetry Recitation Award finals and the University Higher Education Teaching Achievement Exhibition, with interactive exchanges with community tea art, pottery, and Taiwanese traditional poetry societies such as the Puya Recitation Society and the Yushan Recitation Society.

To implement the spirit of the National Languages Development Act and practice transitional justice for language, Professor Li Yuxi from the General Education Center led NFU students and alumnus Zheng Yucheng to participate in this Taiwanese poetry recitation event. The program integrated elements of Yunlin glove puppet theater and showcased independent learning outcomes from courses such as Cultural History, Introduction to Law, Gender Relations and Law, including visits to temples and courts. After the online preliminary round voting, participants took part in the finals that day. Student Zheng Yucheng and student Chen Jianyu received Honorable Mentions in the Classical Poetry Recitation category, Professor Li Yuxi received the New Singing Scholar Award in the Youth Poetry Recitation category, and students Chen Dongjie and Huang Shiwen received Honorable Mentions in the Youth Poetry Recitation category, achieving fruitful results.
Congratulations to Professor Li Yuxi for leading NFU students to outstanding performance at the 2025 Chiayi Seagull Poetry Recitation Award
