NFU General Education Center Collaborates with 'Sisters Radio' to Launch Podcast Series – 2nd Generation Students and Faculty Speak Out

The General Education Center of National Formosa University continues to promote multicultural and interdisciplinary education. Recently, it collaborated with the local radio station “Sisters Radio” on the program Hello! Hearing Southeast Asia to launch a series of podcast episodes. Second-generation students and faculty members from NFU were invited to the platform to share their personal stories and cultural perspectives through audio, showcasing the vitality of the new generation under multiculturalism.

In this collaboration, several students sincerely shared their growth experiences and cultural conflicts. Starting with EP173: When I Say I Am a Second-Generation Student: A Class That Changed My Life Perspective – Ye Yi-an, students reflected on identity and self-worth through classroom experiences. Next, in EP175: The Girl Riding a Manual Motorcycle: And About Those Things on Dcard (Part 1) – Lin Xin-yu, a student humorously shared stories of the intersections between gender and ethnic identity.

Additionally, EP186: The God of Wealth as Matchmaker: Regardless of Sexual Orientation, Language, or Nationality, We Are One Family (Part 1) – Yang Jiaxin, Zhang Shunqin, Zhang Hengjia, Zhang Zhixuan features discussions between faculty and students, exploring family and cultural connections from inclusive and multicultural perspectives. The latest episode, EP190: Vietnam V-POP Leading a New Trend – Vietnamese Female Voices Appear: Cai Fangyu, Cai Xiaoqing, Cai Caixuan, highlights the rise of new Southeast Asian cultural influences and the creative energy of youth.

The General Education Center stated that by collaborating with local radio stations, students can move from the classroom into real-world settings, demonstrating language, cultural, and media expression skills, while also promoting public understanding and respect for second-generation issues. The podcast series presents the diverse voices of the new generation through relaxed yet in-depth interviews, embodying the core philosophy of general education: “understand differences, embrace diversity.”
